Cottage very difficult to find. Reception didn't mention it was behind locked gate which had a " no access, staff only" until we had been round 3 times and gone back to reception. It was an afterthought to offer us the padlock code! Generally nice cottage but paint flaking off and oven not clean. Pretty quiet unless gardeners got tractor out! GrounRead moreds of hotel lovely and conveniently situated. Not sure why it's called Sir Thomas in brochure but Gardeners when you get there! Hide

A great cottage in a unique location - an old, semi-derelict stableyard. Don't let the scruffy exterior put you off; this was a great place to stay for a week, with the added bonus of the hotel grounds and the walled garden (open two days a week). The upstairs rooms were smallish, but there was plenty of room/high ceilings downstairs for five adultRead mores and two small children. Farmshop and post-office/general store nearby. Hide

Not cleaned well, health and safety hazards and major issues. Disappointing especially with my 14 month old baby

Beautiful gardens but the area where the cottage sits is dilapidated. Inside is nice but needs a bit of TLC.

Really nice cottage in a great location. Being attached to Wortley Hall also brings benefits, with dining and a bar close at hand. Would recommend!

Metal framed beds uncomfortable and stairs very steep but otherwise a very pleasant place to stay. Lovely hotel grounds/gardens.

We booked Sir Thomas Cottage. However, after some time trying to find the place, on returning to reception were informed the cottage name was Gardeners Cottage. Can understand why the outside was not shown in any site reviews - not exactly appealing. However, to be fair the inside was a pleasant surprise once through the door.
