Take a break in the countryside at this charming cottage which is suited to couples and small families and you’ll be ideally situated to explore the delights of the Peak District National Park, including a visit to the picturesque grounds of Chatsworth House (10 miles). At the end of each day, you can kick back with your loved ones in front of the coal-effect electric fire for a cosy evening of relaxation.

The living room is generously sized with plenty of seating for all the family, decorated in pastel hues to help you unwind together. You can throw open the patio doors in the summer months, or get the electric fire on in the feature fireplace during the winter, making this a great choice for a stay all year round. Next door, the neutral kitchen has everything you’ll need to prepare a meal, as well as a dining table seating four guests. The staircase leads to the first floor where there are two bedrooms, one of which has a double bed alongside a sofa bed adding versatility to the space. This room boasts an en-suite shower room for added privacy. Completing the first floor is the second bedroom which has twin beds which can be pulled together to make a double upon request, which has use of the downstairs family bathroom. Outside, the cottage has its own private garden filled with mature trees and shrubs which come to life in the summer, offering a tranquil place for you to sit and enjoy your natural surroundings.

The local area has some truly breathtaking walking routes, from the serene setting of Linacre Reservoirs (7 miles) to the sights at National Trust Padley Gorge (10 miles). For a change of scenery, head into Sheffield and spend time enjoying the city life. Known for its grand architecture, green spaces and fantastic cafes and restaurants, there’s something to appeal to everyone.

We thoroughly enjoyed our holiday in this lovely cottage. Well equipped, with comfortable beds and a great position. A very welcome food pack on our arrival - thank you. We will definitely be back!

Really enjoyed our stay at Hills Cottage it was ideally situated for exploring some of Derbyshire's lovely towns , historic houses and scenic walks. The owners Steve and Bernie could not have been more welcoming ,providing a welcome pack for us when we arrived, which was very appreciated. We were delighted with the cottage and would certainly book it again in the future. The owner who lives next door was very pleasant, helpful and not intrusive. We loved the cottage and the location. Steve was on hand and very helpful. A good Sainsbury's store is only about 7 minutes drive away in Dronfield. Sheffield and Chesterfield are easily accessible. The southerly views are stunning. We would highly recommend it and intend to return.

We couldn't have asked for anything more from the lovely, spotlessly clean, beautifully equiped and comfortable cottage. The welcome package was incredible, the host was lovely with excellent recommendations and advice on the area. We would love to visit again.

Lovely host. Steve and Bernie are so helpful and the surroundings on the farm are so peaceful. Would highly recommend to my friends. Great cottage with a lot of space to relax.

Lovely rural location quite close to Chatsworth and Eyam, our 5 star destinations. There are plenty of delightful footpath walks from your front doorstep. Cottage is spacious and cool in hot weather.
