This cosy country barn conversion will win your heart from the moment you set foot on the property. Surrounded by beautiful gardens with views of the Yorkshire Dales National Park enveloping the grounds, this is an idyllic spot for a romantic retreat with your loved one. Just 12 miles away in Richmond, you’ll be able to spend days exploring the picturesque market town, soaking up history at the castle and heading off on whimsical walks to spot local wildlife.

The living room has been thoughtfully designed to encourage you to kick back and relax, with a comfortable corner sofa and a roaring wood burner filling the space. Characterful exposed beams overhead paired with the wooden furniture add warmth to the decor of the room, while the large arched window set into the exposed stone wall allows light to pour in. Down the hall you’ll find the pretty pastel kitchen which has everything you need to cook up a storm, with a dining table adjoining the room, seating four offering the perfect place to gather for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Above the living room on the mezzanine, you’ll find the gallery filled with natural light which is a perfect place to sit and read a book. Completing the property is the bedroom with a country style, feature furniture and a king-size bed. What’s more, the room enjoys an en-suite shower room, in addition to the family bathroom so you can take your pick from a long bath or a quick shower. Outside, the south-facing garden is a haven for relaxation with a selection of mature perennial plants and plenty of places for you to take a seat and soak up the sunshine.

For a spot of history, why not pay a visit to Bolton Castle? Dating back to 1399, the castle itself is impressive with a dungeon, kitchens, armoury and courtyard to explore, whilst the falconry displays and tearooms offer something a little different. Travel south to Aysgarth Falls (11 miles) for a blissful walk on the River Use. Here, you can stop off for a bite to eat at the cafe, or sit and gaze at the mesmerising sight of the cascade, surrounded by rich flora and fauna.

The barn was situated in a breathtaking beautiful area. The scenery was magnificent. The kitchen was very well equipped and the bed was very comfortable. Although the weather wasn't too good we enjoyed a few hours in the garden which was lovely. The bird song was heavenly. We found this was an excellent place for our summer holiday. The converted barn was roomy and comfortable and well designed. We particularly enjoyed watching Wimbledon on a good TV in the gallery. The garden was a highlight, with three sitting areas depending on the position of the sun and nearly all the roses were in full bloom. Beautifully decorated cottage. Well equipped kitchen. Situated in middle of the village but with a pretty garden. Fantastic location for scenery and close to Reeth for amenities. A great place to Read morestay.

A very homely cottage which had clearly been lovingly restored. The hosts had put a lot of thought into making our stay as pleasurable as it could have been. We also very much appreciated the well maintained and inviting garden which we would have loved to have spent more time. Hence, a second visit is definitely on the cards for the future.
