Christmas at Castle Howard

Hello, it's Bernice here from Ingrid Flute's Yorkshire Holiday cottages and I wanted to tell you about a perfect Christmas day out I had at Castle Howard in North Yorkshire.

I had a lovely start to December when my cousins visited us for a few days.  They love Yorkshire and the main reason for returning to us was to visit the lovely Castle Howard near York.  Every year they dress the house with Christmas trees and we make it an annual family visit.

This year was a little different as they had a theme of 'A Christmas Masquerade'. Inspired by the Venetian Carnival the house was beautifully adorned with decorations and costumes of the characters of the famous Commedia dell Arte, Harlequin, Colombine, Pierrot and the Zanni Clown.

We had a lovely lunch there, had a ride on the Kelly Car Land Train, did lots of shopping and even visited the garden centre where I bought my Christmas wreath.

I hope you enjoy looking through my pictures.

If you fancy visiting Castle Howard this year take a look at our cottages in the Vale of York or on the North York Moors.
