With Valentine's Day coming up why not treat you and your partner to an extra special break away in one of our luxury romantic cottages?

Here we round up some of the top things to do on a romantic getaway in Yorkshire...

Dine Aboard a Steam Train

Onboard the North York Moors Railway's Pullman dining train you can sit back, relax and enjoy a romantic meal whilst taking in the stunning views of the North York Moors. Experience seasonal menus featuring the best locally sourced food and drinks and even upgrade your experience with some finishing touches of flowers, champagne and chocolates.

Enjoy Some Traditional Seaside Fun

Go back to the good old days with some old fashioned seaside fun in Scarborough. Share some fish and chips out of the paper on the seafront whilst watching the fishing boats come and go. Visit the traditional Harbour Bar ice cream parlour for sundaes galore and then try to win your loved one a cuddly toy from the grabber machines in the sea front amusement arcades.

Explore The Quaint Market Towns

Yorkshire boasts lots of beautiful quaint little market towns which are a great base to spend a relaxing staycation. One of our favourites is Helmsley in the North York Moors. Spend a day exploring Helmsley Castle and Walled Garden before relaxing with a drink in one of the traditional local pubs on the market square. Then stock up on some delicious treats from the local delicatessen or indulge in afternoon tea in one of the many cosy cafes.

Take A Romantic Stroll

Walk along the beach from the lovely seaside town of Whitby to the quaint coastal town of Sandsend. Just a short walk, being just a couple of miles, this is a popular walk to take in the fresh sea air and is made even better by the treats which await you at the other end. Sandsend has a great choice of highly rated cafes, bistros and restaurants and a local pub so you can spoil yourself with some delicious food, tasty ice cream and refreshing drinks.

Picnic in the Countryside

Put yourselves in the place of Emily Bronte's romantic novel Wuthering Heights with a visit to Top Withens near Haworth in the Yorkshire Dales and romance your loved one with a champagne picnic whilst taking in the spectacular views and atmosphere of the moorland. The North York Moors also has an endless choice of picnic spots and are particularly beautiful when the heather is in full bloom.

Relax with a Spa Break

The spa town of Harrogate provides the ultimate weekend retreat for a romantic getaway. Relax and unwind together in the Victorian Turkish Baths before enjoying afternoon tea in the famous Betty's Tearooms or spoiling your loved one in the shops. There's also an abundance of bistros and cocktail bars to continue the indulgence into the evening.

Enjoy Night at the Theatre

A visit to the theatre is the ideal date night and in the beautiful city of York you have two theatres to choose from, The Grand Opera House and York Theatre Royal. Lots of restaurants also offer pre-theatre dining menus to start off your romantic evening in style. During the daytime a walk along the city walls or a river cruise are also on the top of our list to bring some romance to your break away.
