1. STEAM TRAINS

One of the best ways to see this picturesque area is aboard the North York Moors Railway which runs from Pickering, through Grosmont to Whitby.

2. WALKS & RIDES

As a designated National Park there's an abundance of beautiful walks through the purple Heather moorland. The Cleveland Way National Trail runs from Helmsley. For both cycling and walking Dalby Forest is a must visit.

3. CASTLES AND ATTRACTIONS

Helmsley Castle, Rievaulx Abbey, Duncombe Park and the National Centre for Birds of Prey are amongst the wealth of attractions to enjoy in this area.

4. CHARMING VILLAGES

Country pubs, tea rooms, cosy cottages and converted barns can all be found in the quaint moorland villages like Lealholm, Danby, Glaisdale and Cropton.
