New War Memorial

As a tribute to the fallen, the Whitby Town mayor, Councillor John Freeman, recently unveiled Whitby’s new war memorial to an appreciative audience. Flowers were laid by dignitaries and on behalf of two local families who lost loved ones on active service. The new memorial is just outside the Tourist Information Centre opposite the railway station.
