And still they come to Whitby...

Regatta week, Folk week and the August Bank Holiday may seem a distant memory but folks are still flocking to Whitby for their holidays. With the children back at school, it’s certainly quieter but many take advantage of this with weekend breaks and bus trips to the town. There are many events to attract them too, we seem to be able to put on what people want; Northern Soul, 60’s weekend, Musicport, the Bram Stoker Festival and the bi-annual Goth Festival all take place before Christmas and bring in thousands of visitors.
This, of course, is all in addition to the all year attractions that people can’t seem to get enough of; Whitby Abbey, Dracula, fishing trips, steam trains etc. Add cinema, theatre, and natural history and you have a recipe for success. Unlike many towns in the country where most things close down at the end of September, Whitby is an all the year round venue, keeping small businesses thriving.
Here at Ingrid Flute’s Yorkshire Holiday Cottages, we have had another record year providing self-catering accommodation for visitors from all over the world. Our latest brochure (2015) is now out and contains more properties than ever, including Whitby and Scarborough areas, the Yorkshire coast, North Yorkshire Moors and The Dales as well as our newer additions in Lancashire and Cumbria.
