Our offices
When Ingrid Flute’s Holiday Accommodation Agency first started in 1970, small card adverts in a shop in Robin Hood’s Bay was the order of the day. The business soon moved to Ingrid’s house in Ravenscar and then, after two small offices in a residential area of Scarborough, the newly named Ingrid Flute’s Yorkshire Holiday Cottages arrived in Flowergate, Whitby, where it continues to flourish.
Our main office is now in Whitby, on the coast, in a lovely old former department store with great character. It is an ideal location for visitors to call in and have a chat, get a brochure, and of course pick up keys at the start of their holiday.
When we first saw the new premises, I think we all thought that we would never fit in. However, with some very clever work from the project manager, the office has been transformed; we have seven work stations, two very attractive front windows with seasonal displays, a very cosy but functional kitchen with all mod con’s and, best of all, views of Whitby Abbey and St Mary’s Church from the rear windows. The decoration on the walls is a mixture of stunning photographs of the local area and framed copies of previous brochure covers spanning the last 30 years.
For our official opening by the mayor of Whitby, John Freeman, in June 2012 we sent invites to all of the local businesses round about and we achieved a really good turnout. Since the three previous occupants of the shop had gone bust, they were very pleased to see a well-established company taking over and they all commented on the brilliant refurbishing job that had been done.
As our team grows we have expanding over the remaining 3 floors of the building, doubling our work stations and giving us a new meeting room. We look forward to many more years in our little haven in Whitby.
We opened our office in Leyburn at J.R. Hoppers Estate Agents office in 2014, with further signage and brochures available from their other offices in Hawes, Settle and Bentham. Our Leyburn office is the perfect base for our property recruiter Wendy Chappell, providing a local and easily accessible contact for our owners (and potential owners) in the Yorkshire Dales. The Leyburn office also provides support for our managed services in the Dales and surrounding area.
Our offices are open 6 days a week (7 in summer!) and we're always happy to have a chat, help you to make a booking or answer any questions you may have about letting with us- why not pop in and see us?
