Guests are invited to bring their own paddleboard, canoe, kayak or inflatable for messing about on the water, while numerous trails traverse the lakeshore and woodland. Hop on the local ferries to Lakeland towns and attractions such as the Bowness and the Haverthwaite Steam Railway, or venture to Bowness (5 miles) to visit The World of Beatrix Potter. Thrillseekers will find plenty to amuse them at Brockhole on Windermere (8 miles), which has a wealth of activities from archery and ziplining to garden tours and orienteering.
