Whitby (3 miles) is a bustling seaside town with a sandy beach and a rich history. Explore the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, Whitby Abbey, or join the 21-mile walking and cycling route, The Cinder Track which stretches all the way from Whitby to Scarborough. Visit the vast woodland and ruins of Mulgrave Castle (2 miles) and enjoy spotting wildlife in this sheltered spot.
