Enjoy a coastal break with friends or family in this charming two-bedroom cottage in Whitby. The town’s busy harbour and sandy beach are just over 1 mile away, and you’ll also be within easy reach of the fabulous independent shops and eateries. Whitby Museum and the Captain Cook Memorial Museum are within 2 miles, along with Whitby Abbey. In the evenings, unwind with a glass of wine in the cute cabin in the garden.
The cottage has been decorated in relaxing, pastel shades and a delicate seaside theme runs throughout the property. The open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner is a bright, sociable space with comfortable sofas to stretch out on and a dining table to seat everyone. On a summer’s day, throw open the French doors to the garden to let a gentle, sea breeze drift through the cottage. The two beautiful bedrooms are upstairs, both with en-suite facilities. The enclosed garden is a real treat, with a decked area and furniture for al fresco dining and an adorable cabin-style summerhouse for enjoying a little quiet time with a book or watching TV.
Wander amongst Whitby’s narrow, cobbled streets, exploring the cute shops and galleries on every corner. Look out for souvenirs made from the famous Whitby jet, or perhaps pick up a painting by one of the many local artists. Head down to the bustling harbour to sample some delicious seafood or hop on a boat to go looking for whales and dolphins off the shore. If it’s remote, heather-clad landscapes you’re after, why not board one of the steam trains to go on an adventure in the North York Moors National Park?
