Explore enchanting Wensleydale from this inviting cottage in the market town of Leyburn during your Yorkshire stay. Sleeping three guests, the two-bedroom bolthole, which is perfect for a small family and also welcomes canine companions, is a characterful retreat with a wood burner for cosy nights in and a courtyard garden for summer lunches. Follow footpaths through the Yorkshire Dales; visit spectacular Aysgarth Falls, 7.5 miles away, and see historic Jervaulx Abbey, 6 miles away during your break.
Step into this stone hideaway to find yourselves in a comfortable, beamed lounge, where the wood burner is housed in a stone inglenook. Light a fire in here after autumn and winter walks and settle down to watch a film on the TV or DVD player. When everyone is hungry, wander on through to the kitchen/diner to prepare a tasty, homecooked meal to sit down to together at the table. Laundry facilities can be accessed externally. At the end of each enjoyable day, climb the steep, cottage-style stairs up to the first floor of the cottage. Here you will find a king-size bedroom, with a TV and a step down into a single bedroom. The family bathroom is also up here. Enjoy a cup of Yorkshire tea and a slice of parkin out in the courtyard together after spring and summer excursions. Parking is on the road, subject to availability.
Have a day out to Richmond, 9 miles away, with its charming shopping streets and many eateries. Visit the castle and see Richmond Falls while you are here. You can also stroll 1 mile alongside the River Swale from the town to Easby Abbey, where you can picnic in the ruins.
