A wonderfully presented former stable providing the perfect romantic retreat for couples to relax, unwind and explore beautiful countryside straight from the front door.

Situated in the heart of the quiet village of Tockwith, this light-filled former stable has been lovingly converted to make a characterful holiday home for couples seeking a romantic hideaway. Offering ample space for two guests, the cheery single-level property features exposed brickwork, timber beams set in the high vaulted ceilings and a charming private patio. Ideally situated midway between the historic town of Harrogate and the ancient city of York, this bright, colourful hideaway is perfect for walkers, nature lovers and cyclists exploring the breathtaking North Yorkshire countryside.

Entering this bright and spacious cottage, the relaxing open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner provides an ideal space for you to snuggle up and unwind after a wonderful day out. The central lounge has ample seating, with a sweet dining area to the rear and a stylishly arranged, fully equipped kitchen to the side, perfect for preparing romantic meals for two. When it’s time to retire for the night, head along the corridor to the fresh and colourful bedroom, with a comfortable king-size bed, exposed brickwork and large windows. The property also features an elegant and relaxing bathroom. Outside, the private patio has outdoor furniture, and you will also have shared use of the owner’s delightful garden.

Tockwith is a friendly village with a history dating back almost a 1,000 years – during the Civil War it was a staging post for Cromwell’s army before the Battle of Marston Moor, which is just over a mile away. The area offers miles of glorious walks and bike trails, with landmarks and attractions including Gibbet Hill, Beningbrough Hall and Wetherby Racecourse, all within 15 miles. To the east, York (10 miles) is home to York Minster, JORVIK and the National Railway Museum, while Harrogate to the west (13 miles) features the Valley Gardens and Royal Pump Room Museum.

Beautiful property in a great location for exploring both Harrogate and York. The cottage was very comfortable and well appointed. The owners were very helpful and although it's located within the garden it feels private enough from the main house

The cottage was everything we expected, character meets contemporary. The location perfect, peaceful & calming. The hourly chimes from the nearby church sounded wonderful. Sasha & Richard ( owners) were welcoming, friendly & discreet. But to have them close by was reassuring just in case of any problems. We toured around the whole area and to returRead moren each evening to Lodge Barn was lovely. Hide
