Spend a few days at this truly delightful dwelling on the grounds of a mid-18th-century estate, located within beautifully preened gardens that you’re welcome to explore during your trip. You’ll be 1 mile from the nearest village, where there’s a popular gastropub for eating out. Nearby, you can visit the vibrant towns of Northallerton (9.5 miles) and Richmond (11 miles), or venture into the majestic North York Moors National Park (14 miles), where mile upon mile of scenic trails await.

You’ll need to climb some stairs to enter the accommodation. The inside of this charming dwelling has been renovated to a high standard, blending its original charm with modern comfort. Semi-circular windows from the original building create an elegant appearance. Once in, it’s impossible not to be impressed by the lofty central living space, which has beautiful, exposed beams and a smooth wooden floor. There’s a well-equipped kitchen in one corner and, in the opposite corner, two inviting sofas where you can unwind with a film on the Smart TV. Head up a small flight of steps to reach the delightful bedroom upstairs, decorated in light shades and equipped with a king-size bed and en-suite shower room. Here, too, elegant ceiling beams prop up the vaulted ceiling for an attractive appearance.

Outside, you’ll love becoming familiar with the extensive gardens, featuring manicured lawns, a picturesque lake, and paddocks and stables. You could enjoy a romantic picnic by the water or read a chapter of your book in the wildlife-rich woodland. Further afield, drive to Northallerton to experience its historic market town charm, and visit the Norman castle at Richmond (11 miles). For further rural exploration in a landscape of lush valleys and windswept hills, the Yorkshire Dales National Park starts just 18 miles west.

We couldn't of enjoyed our stay more. The location was beautiful and idyllic, the grounds of the property were absolutely stunning and the coach house itself was beautifully styled but also comfortable and homely. It was also a great base to explore other villages and areas nearby. Our dog also loved her stay too. We wouldn't hesitate to return.
