This mid-terrace property in the heritage town of Richmond offers a fantastic base for two to explore the awe-inspiring Yorkshire Dales. The contemporary, light-filled cottage is a Grade-II listed choice that’s been elevated and updated to create an ideal base for any couple or solo traveller. It’s dog-friendly, ideal for those eager to explore the banks of the River Swale and Swaledale beyond with a furry friend and is just a drive or a walk away from the wider appeals of The Dales. Look forward to hiking, biking and so many other outdoor activities whilst touring this vibrant surrounding area.

Smartly designed to make the very most of its space, this bijou cottage feels roomy yet cosy at the same time. Step into the open-plan living area with underfloor heating and a flame-effect electric fire in one corner. The kitchen offers retro-modern appliances with everything you need for cooking and laundry, and there’s space to sit and dine or enjoy meals in front of the TV. Moving upstairs, an open tread staircase leads to a dynamic king-size bedroom with skylights, an abundance of wardrobe space and an en-suite wet room. There’s an additional TV up here, allowing for cosy film nights in bed after a long day of exploring.

Reach Richmond town centre in less than half a mile, enjoying the museums, shops, restaurants and pubs on offer. There’s an array of beauty spots along the banks of the river to sit and unwind, and a historic castle with interactive exhibitions on offer. For trips out of town, a series of beautiful Swaledale and Wensleydale villages can be reached nearby, including Aysgarth (17 miles), Hawes (24 miles) and Keld (21 miles). Plot circular walks around these villages to unearth waterfalls and fells all around.

The cottage is lovely where it is is not ideal if you have a dog with you as the road is very busy with a narrow pavement outside so conscience of keeping our dog on a very short leash parking was a bit of a problem as it seemed very popular with locals so had to park some distance away from cottage.

Cottage was very clean on arrival with a welcome hamper which was much appropriated. The cottage is small but very cosy & comfortable with everything you need. Location is great with Richmond centre only 10 mins walk. It is on a busy road but the traffic didnt bother us. Would definitely recommend!

The cottage is very well situated. It is small but well equipped and more than adequate for a couple. Very clean and well thought-out. The owners kindly provided us with some bread, butter and orange juice before we arrived, as well as leaving us a bottle of prosecco and two glasses!
