Goathland is a stunning traditional village located around nine miles away from Whitby. The village was put on the map after being the fictional setting of Aidensfield in ITV1's drama Heartbeat. Many of the landmarks in the 1960s series are recognisable including the pub, post office and garage. This is not the first time the village has featured on our screens as Goathland Railway Station was used as the location for Hogsmeade Railway Station in the Harry Potter films. The station links Grosmont with Pickering, and a steam train makes journeys to or from Whitby. The village has many attractions including picnic spots, many walking routes and the stunning natural beauty of the Mallyan Spout waterfall.
