Yorkshire Dales
The Yorkshire Dales are a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is also one of the countrys professionally managed National Parks. It is a fabulous place to book a holiday cottage as there are lots of things to do in the Dales including walking, rambling, cycling, rock climbing and even caving. It has been the chosen location for many films and TV shows including All Creatures Great and Small and most famously, ITVs Emmerdale.
The Dales also play host to many record breakers including the fastest river and the highest lake in England. If you fancy breaking a personal record, why not enjoy dinner at the highest pub in Britain perched 1,732ft above sea level.
One of the most popular destinations in the Dales is Bolton Abbey an estate within which is located the ruined 12th-century Bolton Priory. There are more than eighty miles of footpaths over some breathtaking scenery including the river, through the woodland nature trails or over heather moorland.
